Village Strikes Gold – Blooming Marvellous
Barton in Fabis has won the Small Village category for the third successive year and scooped its first Gold Medal in the East Midlands in Bloom competition. The village was also given a a special judges award for the work to commemorate the start of WW1.
Village Heritage Group
It has been suggested that a Village Heritage Group should be formed to record the natural and cultural environment – landscape, historic sites and built environments plus biodiversity, past and continuing cultural practices, knowledge and living experiences. Everyone is invited to an open meeting in the Village Hall on Thursday 13th November at 7.30 pm to discuss. The Parish Council is very happy to sponsor this first meeting but it is expected that the village will take ownership.
